One of the questions we get asked all the time is, "If I buy this today, can I take it home?"
The answer is almost always yes.
We know buying furniture can sometimes be frustrating. You've found the perfect piece, only to discover it's on backorder or has a long lead time. That's not how we like to do things.
As a small, independent furniture store, we carefully choose every piece that comes through our doors. We import the majority of our furniture ourselves, so if you see it on our showroom floor, it's because it's available. If it isn't sitting in the showroom, it's usually in our warehouse just five minutes away, ready to go.
Being a stand-alone store also means we buy differently to many larger retailers. Rather than bringing in huge quantities of the same item, we import in smaller numbers and regularly introduce new pieces. We'd much rather offer our customers a showroom that's always changing than rows of the same furniture month after month. It means there's nearly always something new to discover, and you're less likely to see the same piece in every home.
For the pieces we source from trusted New Zealand suppliers, the experience is much the same. If the item is on our showroom floor, you can usually take it home that day. If you need additional pieces—perhaps a few more dining chairs to complete your setting—we can order them for you, and in most cases they'll be in Christchurch the following week.
Our stock turns over quickly, so if you see something you love, it's worth taking it home while it's here. Once it's gone, it may be some time before we source that piece again—or we may move on to something completely different.
For us, furniture shopping should be simple. You can see the piece with your own eyes, sit on the sofa, open the drawers, feel the quality of the timber and know exactly what you're taking home.
We think that's still one of the best ways to buy furniture.
